Discovering My Voice: A Millenial’s Journey to Self-Expression and Impact

My name was announced. Apprehensively, I walked up the stage to receive my award from the principal.

To the 7 year old me, from the waiting to the walk up to the stage — it felt like an eternity. In reality it was only a few minutes.

That distant memory seemed almost surreal. Like it never happened.

Till today, I still have a faint memory of that sea of eyes looking at me.

Mechanically, I vaguely remembered shaking the hand of the principal, got my award and took off like a rocket down the stairs.

Back then, I didn’t like attention on me. I didn’t like being judged or scrutinized. Especially if I wasn’t 100% confident of what I was going to say.

I would never ever have imagined this.

Getting eyes on my work. 👀

Proactively getting discoverable by people who need my expertise.

It didn’t happen overnight.
